MBP Advantage

The MBP is a fast-paced program that integrates research, coursework in biology and engineering and a 3-course bioprocess sequence to provide a comprehensive education designed and continuously updated to satisfy the requirements of the modern biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.  Seminars on the legal, regulatory, business, and ethical aspects of biotechnology – many of which are presented by industry professionals – develop students’ understanding of how the industry operates and facilitate their selection of career opportunities.  Instruction in oral, written and interpersonal communication is also provided to give students a competitive advantage throughout their careers.  The MBP staff includes a full-time industrial liaison who provides comprehensive placement assistance.  With this preparation, MBP graduates have obtained industrial positions with compensation above the entry level.

For those students who are considering a PhD program, medical school, or dental school at top universities, the MBP offers an opportunity to enhance their qualifications by taking advanced electives and performing cutting-edge research.  MBP students have access to seminars and classes in a wide range of departments at Northwestern University, one of the premier US institutions.
