Admissions Requirements

The Master of Science in Biotechnology admission requirements emphasize strong quantitative skills and knowledge of molecular sciences.

 

Prerequisite coursework

One year of calculus
One year of organic chemistry
One year of physical chemistry (or general chemistry)
Sophomore-level cell/molecular biology course
Research experience in either an academic or industrial setting

 

 

Scholarships

The MBP offers Merit Scholarships to highly qualified applicants (who apply by February 2nd, 2016), and up to $10,000 to all accepted students who are U.S. Citizens or permanent residents. For more information on MBP Scholarships please visit the Cost of Attendance page.

 

 

Complete Application Process

The admissions committee reviews each application holistically, considering factors such as: GRE scores, GPA, TOEFL scores (if applicable), letters of recommendation, research experience, and performance in an interview (in person, by phone or Skype).

 

Students applying for the 2016 fall term may submit their applications starting November 1, 2015. International applicants must apply before May 31st, 2016 to allow time for visa processing.

 

To be considered for admission, students must submit the following materials:

 

1. An online application

2. Three letters of recommendation (included in online application)

3. A non-refundable $50 application fee

4. Official transcripts of all college studies

5. An official copy of GRE scores (institution code: 1011)

6. An official copy of TOEFL scores (code: 5937) International applicants only

 

Note: Students with incomplete applications are still eligible for an interview.
